If traveling with children do NOT stay here. You have to walk through smoke filled casinos to get everywhere. Yes, they claim to have a kid friendly SpongeBob movie,etc. This area is very run down. When you walk up the steps from this kid area, there are females dancing seductively on a stage right smack in front of you. You can't avioid it. NOT Kid friendly. Go to New York New York instead. They have a nice kid area by the arcade where you ride the coaster in Coney Island. There are several pools, which aren't bad, but they are full of drunks. I asked a person working there which one is the kid pool, so we headed there, and it was full of older drunks. The day I checked out, I checked my bads with the bell hop. I returned to catch my shuttle, and stopped to get my bags. I asked the bell hop for my bags and they said, they would bring them out for me. They told me where to wait. I told them I only have 5 minutes, so I will just take my bags. They assured me that they will bring the bags right now. After ten minutes, i sprinted through a smokey casino to find out where my bags still at the bell hop. I asked the bell hop to please hurry, my shuttle was leaving. He would not pick up the pace. Needless to say, I missed my shuttle to the airport. This hotel is run down and sleezy. Would never stay there again! I read the other reviews about run down rooms. Our room was a new room. It was fine except for the black stuff that was on the bath room since..whatever it was?

bad hotel experience in vegas
08/30/2010Late check in and hoping to have a good rest and shower but no no no, because the hot water is not working, then follow by toilet bowl not flashing ...
late check in and hoping to have a good rest and shower but NO NO no, because the hot water is not working, then follow by toilet bowl not flashing properly and lock is broken in the bathroom door, the room look so old and dark and smell smoke. I call the service desk right away when I found out that theirs no hot water running and help desk just say sorry and can do anything about. It would be nice if they told us as soon as we check in that their hot water is currently not available so we can check in somewhere else or be aware of it. ahhhhh first time in vegas and dissappointment in hotel what a experience. please before you check in to exculibur and check other nice hotel around them that is cheap and clean. Bad smelly hotel EXCULIBUR..

Staff was great. Received an upgraded room at no charge. Very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The pool area was awesome. #40Lots of shade and family oriented.#41 I would definately stay here again for the price. The only thing Id add is that the fan in the restroom is located behind the door. #40Took a while to find it.#41

I stayed at Excaliber many years ago when it first opened. At that time it didn't impress me. I decided to give the hotel another chance this year. It was as I remember, but alot more rundown. I've seen Motel 6's in better condition. If you're lookong for style and comfort, book a room elsewhere.

I read some of the negative reviews here and was a little worried before my trip. Some people said the staff was rude, bathrooms were dirty, rooms smelled of cigarette smoke, etc... I didn't see any of that. My room had no odors. My bathroom and shower were very clean. The A/C was a bit noisy, but no different from any other hotel where I have stayed. The buffet was decent. The dinner buffet was far better than the breakfast. Here's a tip, for $* dollars you can get the all you can eat all day buffet. However, if you go to the Coke booth up the street, you can get dinners (and shows) for 1/2 off. I had a nice Chateaubriand dinner for two at Bally's Steakhouse for about $* a person , which was far better than a buffet. Don't go casual though, it's a nice place. They have a free shuttle to the Rio too. Stop by the Casino Royal for $* bottles of Michelob. Back to the Excalibur... I would stay there again without hesitation. Dick's was so-so. Spend your money at the 1/2 off ticket booth and find a show & dinner near each other.
